With the new direct conversations feature, the sorting is inconsistent depending on whether you click the “Conversation 381” header or you click the timestamp “3w”.
Clicking the “Conversation 381” header takes you to a weirdly reversed view of the conversation.
Clicking the timestamp takes you to a correctly forward-sorted conversation.
I don’t understand why https://akkoma.trwnh.com/main/conversations/381 is reverse-chronological, since this is the only time I have ever seen a conversation be sorted reverse-chronologically in any software. I understand that timelines are reverse-chron to show you newest posts first, and I understand that the main conversations view itself is also reverse-chron to show you newest conversations first. But loading a conversation shouldn’t be inconsistently sorted compared to everything else.
For what it’s worth, Mastodon doesn’t reverse posts in a direct conversation. I can’t think of any other apps that do this reversal, except for Akkoma.
