it’s that time again, a new release is now out!

one new development to tell you about

## proper support for third party frontends

 ![image](https://meta-uploads.akkoma.dev/original/1X/f34f1362ca5bb2b57ccdf24576480e35fe456891.png)

this release brings better support for frontends not supported directly by akkoma - so for example you can now install pleroma’s version of pleroma-fe! support includes linking out to the relevent support channels and so on

cool huh

### otherwise it’s mostly just maintenance

good stuff though, including something that will _hopefully_ reduce your database’s CPU usage. maybe.

per usual [see the changelog](https://akkoma.dev/AkkomaGang/akkoma/src/branch/develop/CHANGELOG.md#2025-12) for a full list of changes

### Updating

Is per usual!

See [Updating your instance - Akkoma Documentation](https://docs.akkoma.dev/stable/administration/updating/)

we have database migrations this time, make sure you run them!

Thanks so much for all your work. I have to move my server soon. Should I upgrade before or after??? 😉

Does it allow users to switch between frontends?
